How to Apply for Septic Permit
You can apply for a septic permit by submitting Application (D-1740) and property's plat or deed via SCDHEC online portal along with application fee. Your application will be reviewed and SCDES will reach out to schedule a percolation test. You can also hire a Professional Soil Classifier (PSC) to do an initial evaluation to potentially speed up the process of the permitting. Once the perc test will be successfully passed, the permit will be emailed to you.
